Yancey, Rick
... is actually christened John Richard but no one calls him that way. He was adopted, read more than his father could buy and used to work on the Yancey Family Farm his father bought in the Florida Swamp when Mr. Yancey was five. He used to dream a lot while working and, after a success with a short story in 7th grade, he wanted to become writer. He fell in love with the theatre and made a degree in English in a college in Lakeland, Florida Southern College and Roosevelt University. He tried law school, saw it wasn't something he liked and worked until 2004 for the government. All the while he wrote plays, got married and raised three sons (who thought he was a superhero), until his wife told him the plays would make an excellent book. This way, his first novel was brought into the world. 2004 he finally settled for full time writing and published over 15 award winning novels.
Wrote: The Highly Effective Detective Series, Rags and Bones, Confessions of a Tax Collector, A Burning in Homeland, The Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp Series and The Monstrumologist Series.
