The Selection

The princesses of Illéa, the USA after WW3 and 4, are always paired of with foreign princes to ensure the safety of the country. But the boys get their own Selection – meaning, 35 girls, one girl from every part of Illéa, are sent to the palace to compete for the prince's heart. The girl who wins will be the next queen. All very romantic, especially because the castes don't play a role in this. But America Singer still doesn't want to sign the formula, because she is in love and she wants to marry her Aspen. But her mother can't stand the idea of a wasted opportunity like this and convinces America... she wouldn't be chosen anyway, so why not sign and get all the benefits? But what if... Well, after her boyfriend breaks up with her and America's heart is broken, she's bound to find out.

Nearly two decades later...

The crown princess of Illéa should be strong and basically do what she likes, if she still takes responsibility for her country. Or. Not. Eadlyn Schreave is furious, when her parents force her into a Selection to appease the country...
