Sam aus dem Meer (2) Seelennöte by Isabell Schmitt-Egner

Laine and Bill are a couple and desperately try to keep Sam a secret - for his safety. So, when Abernathy decides to go after Sam he has to kidnap Laine for that... Bill sees himself forced to tell her father everything. And to ask Sam what he can not expect him to do. Meanwhile Abernathy has a plan that will not only hurt the young siren but also emotionally traumatize him.
I think the first book was better, but this one is okay, too. Only the beginning was really bad. The characters were basically not to differentiate and it was boring. But after that, the characters got better and the story was more tense.
I'm really sorry for Sam. This... this sucked. But it's good he found his “father” in the end, someone he could trust. His family from the sea is... well, interesting. I wonder what stands behind all that.
As for Abernathy: I don't know if one should despise or pity him. Despise because what he did was bad, really bad, or pity him because in the end, he really loved Sam.
Laine's idea with the sobbing was nice – but obvious. I can't believe Abernathy fell for that!
Why didn't they involve Liz by the way? At the beginning? Liz already knows everything and helped from the first part on. Why didn't they take her help? It would have been far better for Sam to have an additional companion.
However, I can only give stars for the ideas. Minus one for characters. There are to many things in content that aren't explained properly and the style was as usual.
