To the next book of this awesome series: Origin ( In German Origin Schattenfunke). I read it in the 2-in-1 Collector's Edition Lux Consequences (published 2014) containing OpalOrigin and bonus content on 807 pages.

Katy has been abducted by the infamous DOD. They tell her things she doesn't want to here, but more importantly is what they make her do. Daemon is desperate for her and swears he'll do anything to save her. And he never breaks his promises. But what else does the government hide from their population? Daemon and Katy are about to find out...

W.O.N.D.E.R.F.U.L. Really great. I love the depth behind the "big 'n evil master-plan" of the D.O.D. as well as the intention behind intention behind intention of Luc and Blake. The latter one had it so coming, by the way, finally this idiot is gone! I nearly did a happy dance. Okay, I know this sounds a little creepy. But that guy is just to be hated! He so deserved it – and he'd gotten on my nerves.

The rest of the characters are as cool as in Opal but I like the new ones, too, like Archer. He's fascinating I his calm way – and his secret was so obvious.

But I have to admit that Nancy is interesting, too, even though she's not half as charming as Archer.

Some things in this book were obvious, like Archer and the please-reproduce-policy, but others totally caught me out of guard. The relationships and how they change are good beyond words, especially the one with the Thompsons and Matthew, the one between Dawson and Beth and, of course, between Katy and Daemon. He really would burn down the world for her. You wouldn't think that behaviour fit to him if you'd only knew the first part of the series. But it is so like him! I love that. It's one of the thing Jennifer L. Armentrout is really unbelievable good in: Characters and their facets, their depths. In the Covenant books as well as in this series and even in Nephilim Rising, even though the focus lies on a very different thing there. This woman is a really gorgeous author. Seriously.

All in all, the book is great. I give it stars for characters, ideas, content, style and relationships.
