David Eddings (D) was born 1931 in Spokane, Washington and grew up in Seattle. He worked for a while for Boenig & Co, served in US Army and taught English in college. He married 1962, Judith Leigh Schall. Eddings died 2009, two years after his wife's death.

He also wrote The Losers, High Hunt, The Elenium, The Tamuli, The Belgariad-Series, The Malloreon-Series and extras of the series, The Redemption of Althalus, The Dreamers Series with his wife.
