Divergent (3) - Allegiant - The Divergent Series by Veronica Roth

If you ever wanted to know why someone would ever risk his life for someone he can't trust, this is the book to read. Allegiant (in German Die Bestimmung - Letzte Entscheidung, in French Divergente 3). I read it in English, where it contained 526 pages.

Four, Caleb, Christina, Cara, Uriah, Peter and Tris finally flee Chicago - into the unknown world. Only to find out Chicago is an experiment, everyone except Tris is genetically damaged and that the GDs are revolting against the genatically pure persons (GP) who oppress them. Tris doesn't believe in the existence of genetical damage. Four does, and he is ready to fight against the oppression. Unfortunately, everything goes wrong.

In Chicago the pro-factioners, the Allegiant, fight the Factionless - and the city is to be resetted. Tris and her friends have to stop the change, or they'd all be lost.

The ending nearly made me cry. The book is written absolutely wonderfull, the characters and the relationships as realistic as can be. I love it. Even though I secretly (or not so secretly anymore, since I'm publishing it) suspect Veronica Roth and George R. R. Martin are related.

I give it five stars, for characters, plot, ideas, style and the saddest and most philosophical ending I ever read.
